With GEW settled in to its new modern factory in Crawley, GEW continued to support worthy causes and started the year with a post-Christmas raffle. All the gifts that had been given to GEW throughout 2012 were put into a raffle and all proceeds from ticket sales were given to charity. This year’s chosen charity was the RNLI.

The Royal National Lifeboat Institution provide, on call, a 24-hour lifeboat search and rescue service and a seasonal lifeguard service. Their purpose is to saves lives at sea and their vision is to end preventable loss of life at sea. This service is provided wherever possible by volunteers, generously supported by voluntary donations and legacies which allow them to run a fleet of 330 lifeboats and provide lifeguards on 200 beaches.
