Today, there are many people alive and well in the South East thanks to the Surrey Air Ambulance service.
It currently costs about £5 million a year to keep both helicopters flying but this figure will rise to £6 million with the new night flying service. The charity receives no statutory Government or National Lottery funding and relies almost entirely on public donations.
June this year saw another Air Aid Ball supported by GEW. The event proved to be a great success, raising £70,000 for Surrey Air Ambulance.
