The series of fun races, first staged in 2003, will be held on Sunday 14th July 2019 near Lendal Bridge in the city centre. 36 teams will battle it out, with the first race beginning at 10am and the Grand Final expected to take place at around 4pm.
This great day of boating antics is all about having fun, whilst at the same time raising much needed funds for a wide range of worthy causes. Since 2003, this Rotary Club of York event has helped to raise a huge sum of over £1.1million.
This year the ABG International team are fundraising to help in the fight against breast cancer and the 20-strong team are well on their way to reaching their target figure of £3,500. Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in the UK, with about one in eight women being diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime.
