Cold Filter and Quartz Window

Cold Filter

The Cold Filter is designed to protect the more heat sensitive substrates from direct infrared radiation. It also protects the UV lamp and the reflector assembly from dust and other contaminants, particularly when the lamphead is inverted.

Manufactured in a material which is naturally transparent to UV but reflective to infrared radiation, it is designed for quick and easy removal and replacement.

The Cold Filter, shown here on a glass dichroic reflector.

Quartz Window

Occasionally it is necessary to seal the curing chamber from the UV lamp, typically for silicone applications, in solvent atmospheres or on ink jet printing machines. Sealing is achieved by inserting a quartz window between the web and the UV lamp.

Designed with a modular construction, removal of the window for cleaning is simply a matter of sliding it out of the housing when the cassette is removed.
