IsoCure - Power & Control

Introduction Lamphead Design & Integration Engineering Power and Control

Power and Control

32 kW e-Brick power supply & control unit

All Electronic

NEW TO WIDE-FORMAT PRINTING

  • Up to 30% more efficient than transformer power supplies
  • UV output increased by up to 20%
  • Stand-by power typically halved, realising significant energy savings
  • Integrated control circuitry – no separate cabinet required
  • Significantly reduced factory footprint
  • Lamp output and curing unaffected by mains input irregularities
  • Stepless power adjustment for optimum curing performance and temperature control

Transformer Vs electronic power supplies
for four 32kW UV lamps

SQUARE WAVE TECHNOLOGY

The output voltage from a transformer-based power supply is approximately sinusoidal at 50-60 Hz.

The lamp’s UV output is dependent on the magnitude of the input voltage, hence it is pulsed at double the input voltage frequency. Lamp output therefore pulses at 100-120 Hz.

The output voltage from an e-Brick electronic power supply is square wave at 300 Hz.

As before, the lamp’s UV output is dependent on the magnitude of the input voltage, hence it is maintained at a constant level. Lamp output is therefore constant.

When comparing the UV output curves from both types of power supply, it can be seen that the Root Means Squared (RMS) output from the e-Brick powered lamp is approximately 20% higher.

OPERATOR INTERFACE WITH UV MONITORING

  • Touch-sensitive colour display with intuitive icon-based menus for ease of use
  • Clear display of the system status and all control parameters
  • Multi-lingual capability: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Polish or Scandinavian
  • On-screen commissioning and diagnostics
  • Convenient hotkey buttons
  • SEEcure continuous online UV monitoring option
