GEW (EC) Limited is a world-leading manufacturer of energy-efficient UV curing systems for printing and coating applications. The company is headquartered in England with subsidiaries in Germany and the US and operates a network of international distributors worldwide.

We now are recruiting a Distribution & Direct Sales Manager reporting to the Managing Director.

As the successful Distribution & Direct Sales Manager you will be responsible for managing and developing our worldwide distribution network. You will have the necessary skills and sufficient relevant experience to:

  • Suggest and agree sales targets / KPIs and work with distributors to achieve these
  • Communicate and coordinate sales activities and opportunities on a day-to-day basis
  • Assess and review distributor performance with regular reporting
  • Proactively develop a strategy to improve and increase market share
  • Travel worldwide to manage and support the distribution network
  • Represent the company at exhibitions and sales conferences around the world as required, to include presenting, speaking and networking.

As the role develops you will also manage and develop other sales staff to:

  • Suggest and agree sales targets and other relevant KPIs working with sales staff to achieve these
  • Communicate and coordinate sales activities and opportunities on a day-to-day basis
  • Gather information about market trends and future product requirements reporting where necessary to management
  • Achieve and communicate an understanding of competitors’ activity (particularly their distributor activity)
  • Suggest necessary advertising and sales promotion activities, including customer/distributor support
  • Receive customer enquiries for UV systems, clarify their requirements and pass on to the Internal Sales staff to prepare quotations
  • Continually assess and implement better work processes to maximise productivity
  • Keep abreast of all company product / technical innovation and changes disseminating as necessary

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Degree qualified (preferably with a technical bias)
  • Sufficient experience in a technical pro-active sales management role
  • Experience within the graphic arts industry / printing industry
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication skill at all levels
  • Proven managerial experience with attention to detail and meticulous ability to follow up and close out
  • Ability to “think on the spot” and act quickly, taking responsibility and being accountable for ambitious agreed results driven targets
