Challengers

The Challengers charity is dedicated to providing exciting play and leisure opportunities through youth centres in Farnham and Guildford and through community-based projects across Surrey.

Last year the GEW Christmas Charity Raffle proved to be very popular with employees and provided a fun way to raise money for a chosen charity organisation. All the corporate gifts given to GEW over the previous year were placed in a raffle and tickets were sold to GEW employees. As the raffle proved to be so successful it was repeated this year and Challengers was the chosen charity. A total of £276 was raised for the organisation.

About Challengers: The Challengers’ strap line says it all: “Serious about fun for all disabled children and young children”. Established in 1979, the charity is dedicated to providing exciting and challenging play and leisure opportunities through youth centres in Farnham and Guildford and through community-based projects across the county. Children and young people between the ages of 2 to 25 can enjoy fun activities, meet new friends and just have a place to go. Their families benefit too, enjoying short breaks during high pressure times and allowing them to do ordinary everyday activities.
