GEW receives EDP Award for LED UV system

During a ceremony at the 2015 FESPA show in Cologne, the European Digital Press (EDP) Association celebrated the winners of their 8th EDP Awards attributing GEW the trophy for “Best print support tool” for the LW2 LED UV lamphead.

GEW’s LW2 lamphead with LED UV technology is the most powerful UV-curing system for printing and coating applications currently available. In combination with the RHINO electronic power supply LED arrays can attain peaks of 22W/cm² while at the same time achieving life cycles of over 20,000 hours (about 7 to 10 times longer than GEW arc lamps with 2 to 3,000 hours).

The LW2 LED UV lamphead boasts uniformity of UV output and wavelength across the curing area and is available in wavelengths 385, 395 and 405 nm.

With the Awards EDP honors the best developments in print production tools, software developments, substrates, inks, materials and finishings systems. Out of more than 100 entries finally 20 products were awarded with a best of Trophy in its category.
