Raincatcher Appeal

GEW are sponsoring a pupil from The Warwick School, Amelia Bainbridge, to help raise the £2195 she requires to take part in a group visit to Tanzania where she will work with local villagers in Tabora to build the underground wells necessary to give access to clean water. Last year the school raised funds for the cost of the wells and this year a group of pupils will help to build them. The pupils will also do other charity work during their visit, helping in schools and orphanages.

Amelia has undertaken various ventures including baby sitting, typing, car cleaning and a “Smurf walk”. The latter being a 13+ mile sponsored walk from Hassocks to Brighton, dressed as a Smurf.

GEW has pledged to match the total funds she herself raises.

Update 1:

GEW donated £2000 to match Amelia’s own fund raising efforts for this worthwhile cause. A group of students from the Warwick School will travel to Africa to help build latrines and to work in the local orphanage.
