Having run seven marathons in his youth, GEW’s Stephen Tassell decided to prove himself yet again by completing the Great North Run 2011 in aid of his chosen charity, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Despite the rain lashing down over the last seven miles, he managed to complete the 13.5 mile course in 2 hours and 35 minutes and without sprain or blister.

In previous employment he was involved with manufacture of hearing aids and, during that time, had undertaken charity events for both the National Deaf Children’s Society and Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. Together with GEW’s contribution, Stephen managed to raise £650 for his charity.
