GEW to launch energy efficient fully air cooled UV solutions

Electronic power supplies with integrated control hardware offer dramatic reductions in running costs.

GEW will launch two new air cooled UV systems offering the combined benefits of increased UV output and reduced energy consumption. Based on GEW’s well proven technology, the new systems are dedicated, powerful UV design solutions that can be easily integrated on almost any make of narrow or wide format ink jet or screen printing press. Both models are driven by the company’s Award winning and compact e-Brick electronic power supply with integrated control hardware offering dramatic reductions in running cost.

System developments include a new reflector profile to optimise UV efficiency with cooler processing for plastics and extensible materials. Various heat management options to suit different configurations of printing machines are offered to allow the widest possible range of substrates to be printed. Intelligent control software is used to manage lamp power according to the application, with either hand held or integrated UV monitoring solutions available to measure and optimise UV output.

Energy efficiency has been further increased on the e-Brick electronic power supply with the development of GreenTimer that resolves the traditional issue of energy wastage from lamps left on standby when not in production.

GEW manufactures UV curing systems for all makes of printing and converting machines including specialised applications and supplies both original equipment manufacturers and upgrades for existing equipment.  Established in 1991, the company has built a strong reputation as a global supplier of UV curing systems in the graphic arts industry.  Based near London, England, GEW manufactures all its products in-house, which are available together with spare parts and after-sales service through satellite offices and its distribution network around the world.
