Wire Guard_2

Wire guard

A mechanical barrier to prevent substrates from coming into contact with the UV lamp.

Wire guard

Where it is necessary to prevent loose substrate material from being sucked on to or otherwise coming into contact with the hot UV lamp, for example in the event of a web break or sheet crash, a wire guard can be fitted over the light emitting window in place of the quartz window to provide protection whilst enabling maximum UV energy transmission.

Depending on the application, this consists of either a series of thin wires, or thicker rods for heavier gauge substrates, arranged diagonally in front of the lamp so as to protect it without casting a shadow onto the substrate.
