Greg Hrinya (GH): Hello, and thank you for joining us for our newest
VideoBite, where we bring the latest news and products in our industry. I’m Greg Hrinya, Editor of Label and Narrow Web, and it’s great to be joined
today by Amir Dekel, Vice President of Sales at GEW, once again live from the show floor here at LOUPE America’s formerly Labelexpo. So GEW has an exciting new product launch in EOS and it’s great that you’re able to join us today to explain a little bit more about it. Thank you so much.

Amir Dekel (AD): Always great to see you, Greg. Always.

GH: Absolutely. So, Amir, to start out, what can you tell us about EOS?

AD: So, EOS, as you can see here, these are the, this is the new symbol of EOS, it’s a brand new product where we took all of our knowledge and experience in the UV market and essentially revolutionised the system. We make it very versatile. We make it a lot more intelligent from all aspects and we make it a lot more suitable to OEM, from one end, and end user from the other end.

GH: Yeah, that sounds great. So when we talk about benefits, what can you say about the benefits for the OEM customers to the EOS?

AD: So, OEM now, are able to build a system by themselves, buy components from us, like lamps, like cables, like power supplies, then integrate them intimately into their system and machines both mechanically, like where to place power supply, how to place the lamp and all that, and also electronically. They can communicate directly with our power supplies through various protocols, and, in particular OPC-UA. They can extract the data and command the system to do what they want to do and display it on their own user interface. So they don’t need our user interface anymore. It becomes another component of the printing machine.

GH: Great. That sounds really interesting. So we talked about the benefits to the OEM customers. Conversely, what about the benefits for the end users?

AD: So the end users are enjoying now from the personality we gave to each cassette. The cassette now, we call it the intelligent cassette. It has a number. The number is unique to every cassette we going to sell ever
worldwide. And the cassettes will record now the number of hours of the lamp. It will record the number of hours of the reflectors and all the other parameters that are of interest to the cassette. Once the cassette has a personality, it’s very easy for us to debug a specific cassette and see what’s wrong with it. We can communicate with it directly. The end user
can take that cassette and go anywhere they want with the system and the information stays with the cassette. It doesn’t stay at the system. It goes
with the cassette. So all the numbers and all the logs are being maintained properly.

GH: That’s really good to know. So with the launch of this new technology, what would you say to customers who recently invested in GEW about the older technology that they invested in?

AD: First of all, the old technology is uniquely good, as it was for many years, and it will continue to be as well to serve the customers properly for years to come. We don’t discontinue it. We don’t make end of life of it. And the EOS will be an addition, a very sophisticated addition that will help the customer build into the future with a lot more information.

GH: That’s great. So going forward when someone’s investing in GEW
technology will EOS be the standard for what they’re getting from you?

AD: It will be one of the standards. It will not discontinue our RHINO, our
legacy RHINO. Remember, we today, we still serving systems that are, were, purchased 15 and 20 years ago. So we are not, we know our legacies, we are not abandoning our customers with new technology. That’s not going to happen. But the new technology is going to give another dimension that the customer can be developed in the future, by the way we’re going to use the data that every cassette produces through an artificial intelligence.

GH: That’s great information. And thank you so much, Amir, for taking the time to be with us today and exploring EOS a little more.

AD: Yeah, it’s always a pleasure, Greg. Thank you
very much.

GH: Absolutely. So, if you’d like to learn more about EOS or GEW’s diverse product range, head on over to their website. Thank you.
