Etygraf began business in 1981, printing labels for the numerous fruit producers in the agricultural region surrounding their printing works in Valencia, Spain. The company now supply food producers across the country and beyond, with a turnover of nearly 8 million Euros and supported by 12 sales offices in Spain and one in Morocco. They have built an enviable reputation in the production of food contact packaging and high end labelling for wines and spirits. Cosmetics packaging is a further key element of their business.
Etygraf’s core production process is flexographic printing with low migration inks, with embellishments such as foiling, embossing, lamination and varnishing being used to add value. The production team use GEW’s ArcLED hybrid UV curing system to run infrared, Mercury arc and LED UV lampheads on the same press, enabling fast changeover of lamp configurations to suit each job. With over 800 customers and an average order value of 1000 Euros, the competitive edge and cost savings created through the use of ArcLED are crucial to the business.
With LED UV curing Etygraf can now achieve litho quality photographic images through the flexo printing process, while at the same time reporting considerable savings in energy and consumables, compared to their conventional UV systems.
